Unique Home Accents
|
Unique home accents are pretty much the final step of your decorating mission. But don't be tempted to put too many unique home accents because it will end up in clutter. Wait until you are finished with the paint, floors, window coverings and furniture before you decide on witch unique home accents you will use.
There are two decorating rules that will help in arranging unique home accents: Firstly, the Power of Two and the Rule of Three. The Power of Two states that all unique home accents should be balanced by another that is alike or similar. An example is a pair of candlestick lamps on either end of a buffet table or matching topiaries on either side of a fireplace mantel. Secondly, the Rule of Three is grouping the unique home accents together in threes, or odd number. Often these unique home accents are tied together by color, finish, or subject matter.
When selecting unique home accents, be certain to arrange them in varying heights to break up the arrangement and make the display more interesting.
